IT Support Specialist

Position Summary

I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) is looking for a motivated individual to join our IT support team at the NOAA Coastal Services Center (CSC) in Charleston, SC. The successful candidate will be a member of our IT support team and will play a role in all aspects of the Center’s IT initiatives. The position provides a wide range of opportunities to work with various technologies and to potentially introduce new technologies to the Center.

Duties:

• Day-to-day  support for internal IT operations (laptop & workstation support, application support, Blackberry support, printer support)
• Resolve technical issues as submitted by customers and routed through the help desk
• Research, analyze, and make recommendations for hardware, software, and other system standards and configurations
• Coordinate with non-IT staff to determine project requirements and timelines
• Periodic emergency & monthly IT maintenance to be completed after hours or on weekends

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree and two years experience or equivalent work experience
• Successful track record supporting and configuring Microsoft Windows Operating Systems in an enterprise environment
• Experience with server support and  server architecture concepts
• Demonstrated experience in configuration management practices
• Strong troubleshooting, prioritizing, and interpersonal skills required
• Highly motivated, team player, with good communications
• Ability to lift and move over 50 lbs
• Pass a government security investigation as required by the United States Dept. of Commerce and NOAA
• Must be courteous and demonstrate the ability to effectively resolve end user IT issues in a timely manner

• Help desk ticketing/tracking system
• Microsoft Windows Operating System support (Server 2003/2008, XP, Windows7)
• Microsoft SMS/SCCM troubleshooting
• Microsoft Sharepoint
• ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Software Suite
• VMware exposure
• Configuration management practices/ITIL practices
